The BC SUPPORT Unit Tapestry Project

Methods for Supporting Diverse Patient Engagement in a Diverse World

Welcome to the BC SUPPORT Unit Tapestry Project: Methods for Supporting Diverse Patient Engagement in a Diverse World! This project created a suite of educational modules designed to help support the inclusion of diverse people in health research. Watch this video, from project co-leads Dr. Erin Michalak and Dr. Steven Barnes for an introduction to the project:

Below, you can access each of our tapestry modules! We recommend starting with the primer to diversity in patient engagement module, and then continuing on to more specific modules that discuss considerations for engaging with d/Deaf, disabled, rural and remote, LGBTQ2S+, and immigrant, refugee, racialized, and ethnocultural communities. Stay tuned for the release of future modules – we’d love to hear your ideas for focus areas!

Have knowledge or resources to share? Interested in creating your own Tapestry? You can add your own content, ask questions, or suggest topics for future modules by completing the form below. We want to hear from you!

This project is funded by the BC SUPPORT Unit and Canadian Institute of Health Research. Visit the official project page here.
